Posting Guidelines

Keep Your Hotlist.in Business Listing Accurate, Clear and Useful

Hotlist.in helps Indian businesses showcase their products and services to potential customers. These posting guidelines explain how to create a useful business listing and what information is acceptable on our platform.

Following these guidelines helps maintain a reliable directory and gives customers a better understanding of your business.

1. Provide Genuine Business Information

Submit accurate and up-to-date details about your business, including its name, address, contact information, category and services. You must be authorised to create a listing on behalf of the business.

Do not use false identities, misleading business names or fabricated information.

2. Choose the Right Business Category

Select the category that best describes your primary business activity. Relevant categorisation helps customers find businesses that match their needs.

Avoid selecting unrelated categories simply to increase visibility.

3. Write a Clear Business Description

Explain what your business offers, who your customers are and how your products or services can help them.

Use simple, professional language. Avoid exaggerated claims, repeated keywords, irrelevant promotional text and unsupported statements such as guaranteed results or being the best in every category.

4. Upload Appropriate Photos and Logos

Use clear, relevant images that represent your actual business, products, services or premises.

You must own the images or have permission to use them. Do not upload stolen photographs, misleading images, copyrighted material without authorisation or content that violates another person’s rights.

5. Provide Valid Contact Details

Ensure that the phone number, email address, website and other contact information you submit are correct and relevant to your business.

Do not publish another person’s private contact details without proper authorisation. Keep your information updated so interested customers can reach you.

6. No Fake, Duplicate or Misleading Listings

Each listing should represent a genuine business or an authorised business location.

The following are not permitted:

  • Duplicate submissions intended to gain additional visibility.
  • Fake businesses or impersonation of another organisation.
  • Misleading offers, false qualifications or fabricated customer reviews.
  • False claims about verification, awards, certifications or official affiliations.
  • Listings created to redirect users to unrelated or deceptive services.

Where multiple branches exist, separate listings may be permitted when they represent genuine locations and comply with our requirements.

7. No Prohibited or Unlawful Content

Listings must comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations. Hotlist.in does not permit content promoting fraud, scams, illegal activities, counterfeit goods, prohibited products or services, harassment, hate or other unlawful conduct.

Content that is abusive, threatening, sexually exploitative or otherwise inappropriate for a professional business directory may also be rejected or removed.

8. Use Fair and Honest Promotional Claims

You may describe your offers, prices, specialities and competitive advantages, provided the information is truthful and not misleading.

Clearly state relevant conditions for discounts or special offers. Do not promise guaranteed income, guaranteed customer enquiries or results that your business cannot substantiate.

9. Respect Customer Privacy

Do not publish personal information, private conversations, customer records or photographs of identifiable individuals without the necessary permission or lawful basis.

Avoid including bank account credentials, passwords, OTPs or other confidential information in listing descriptions, images or supporting documents.

10. Keep Listings Updated

Review your business profile periodically. Update changes to your address, contact details, services, pricing or operating status as needed.

If your business closes or the information is no longer valid, notify Hotlist.in so the listing can be reviewed.

11. Verification and Listing Approval

Submitted listings may be reviewed to check their accuracy, relevance and compliance with our requirements. We may request additional information or supporting documents where necessary.

Payment for a listing does not guarantee approval. Verification status must not be misrepresented, and businesses must not claim endorsement by Hotlist.in beyond what has actually been granted.

12. Compliance and Enforcement

Hotlist.in may reject, edit, restrict, suspend or remove listings that breach these guidelines, applicable policies or legal requirements. Serious or repeated violations may result in restrictions on future submissions.

Where appropriate, we may ask the business owner to correct inaccurate or incomplete information before publication or continued display.
